El Paso International Airport (ELP)
History, Facts and Overview

(El Paso, Texas - TX, USA)

In September 1928, El Paso opened in municipal airport with a grand ceremony, attended by more than 10,000 locals. Since its beginning, El Paso Airport has always prided itself on using the absolutely latest in technology and in 1968, built the country's tallest control tower, which measured some 40 meters / 130 feet. In 2000, the airport led the way once more, when it installed a state-of-the-art radar system.

The present-day terminal building at El Paso Airport offers all of the facilities that visitors need, with Travelex counters, ATM machines, Wi-Fi Internet, business facilities and a conference room.

Complementing these facilities is a great range of unique specialty shops, selling local Southern arts and crafts, as well as some friendly bars, quality restaurants and cafés, such as the Forti's Mexican Elder Restaurant, Franklin Express Snackbar and Jake's Coffee Shop.

Both Marriott and Hilton have hotels with extensive business and conference facilities located close to El Paso International Airport, while more modest business requirements are handled competently by the airport's onsite Travelex corner. The airport also features a meeting room, which is equipped for conferences and should be booked in advance.
